The Middle Georgia Archives hold an expansive collection of postcards from throughout Georgia. In the times without email and cell phones, a postcard to your family or friends, sent from a visited place opened a whole new world of communication.

We used modern technology to exhibit a glimpse of the wealth of postcards treasured at the Middle Georgia Archives. Once upon a time, visitors to Macon sent greetings to their loved ones by post. See how these greetings from everyday life long ago look today on the street view map and visit the Middle Georgia Archive in person to search for much more from the region.

This exhibition is a part of the Digital Community Heritage Project executed by the Jefferson Institute (www.jeffersoninst.org) and funded by the Knight Foundation (www.knightfoundation.org).
